Maui Tourist Attractions

Maui tourist attractions are endless. You just have to decide how much of your precious beach time are you willing to give up!

Depending on how long you are planning to stay on Maui, the best is to have a priority list based on your personal interests. Even if this is not your first time here, still, a good planning ahead, followed by an early booking will prove to pay off!

For help deciding, and to book activities in Maui, contact Tom Barefoot’s Tours. They are booking Hawaii tours and activities for over 30 years, offering the largest Hawaii tour and activity selection you will find in the state of Hawaii! Carrying over 2000 regularly scheduled activities, they will also create and offer customized private tours. It can really help to ask a local experienced professional! Furthermore, most of Tom's activities have a short video presentation on his website.

Visit Haleakala National Park and you will discover more than a few Maui tourist attractions! If you love hiking, this is the place to start. Seven Sacred Pools, seven beautiful waterfalls and tranquil pools, flowing into the ocean nearby is located near Hana, and the Pipiwai Trail, 4 miles round trip, above the Seven Sacred Pools, is one of the best hikes on Maui. There are several great waterfalls along the route with the final destination fall being Waimoku Falls, falling 400-feet down a sheer lava rock wall.

It is an amazing experience witnessing the sunrise from the top of Haleakala Volcano,'The House of the Sun'! Haleakala is the largest dormant volcano in the world. On top of it, you feel like stepping on the Moon! You may choose just to drive early in the morning to catch the sunrise or more adventure: biking down Haleakala with an organized group, just after the sunrise…

Tedeschi Winery, Maui's only vineyard, is located 2,000 feet up the slopes of Haleakala. Established in 1974, now renamed Maui Vineyards, can be a beautiful side trip, whether you're visiting Haleakala Crater, Makawao, or Alii Kula Lavender farm. Located in a historic building, The Kalakaua Cottage Vine Tasting Room is open daily and offer free tours of the grounds and winery operation. The King's Cottage dates to 1874, when it was built specifically for the visit of Hawaii's monarch David Kalakaua and queen Kapi'olani.

Indeed, upcountry Maui has so much to offer! Visit Alii Kula Lavender Field, which grows many different varieties of lavender, so one species of lavender is always in bloom. The air is fragrant, and the place, delightful!

The royal city of Lahaina is offering many attractions, and some of them are free! Admire the famous Banyan Tree, huge, impressive, with a shade covering almost one acre! On Front Street, plenty of local artists display their work, and local chefs offer wonderful culinary creations from the sea and from Maui's organic farms.

Add to your list with Maui tourist attractions a luau! Maui luaus are shows that will include dancing, singing, maybe even fire dancers, and lots of authentic Hawaiian foods.

From the Garden of Eden (on the Road to Hana), to an unique lava tube, Hana Lava Tube, a fascinating documentary of the lava journey, to bamboo and eucalyptus forests, there are plenty of Maui tourist attractions all around the island.

The Black Rock, on Kaanapali beach is a top snorkeling spot. If you are waiting for the sunset on Sheraton Hotel’s patio, while sipping a Mai-Tai you will have a wonderful show: the sunset jump from the top of the Black Rock,"Pu'u Keka'a". Black Rock divides the long, sandy beaches of Ka'anapali and Kahekili. The Black Rock at Kaanapali Beach, West Maui, is the site where ancient Hawaiians believed that their spirits "jumped off", leaving this world...

Maui tourist attractions are endless. No matter what are you choosing: a trip to Molokini Crater, Molokai and Lanai, visiting Iao Needle, booking snorkel tours, whale watching or dinner sunset cruises, for sure you will not be disappointed!
